SISA FLOOD VICTIMS FUNDRAISING

Voice Off 11 PNG tour giving the “Wow Factor”

Islands musicians of the Voice Off 11 PNG Tour are flying the nation’s
flag high in Port Moresby city with their raw talents being displayed in
their week-long tour.
Dubbed in Port Moresby as the “Voice Off 11 quartet”, Brian Maesulia (JAG), Jason Wesley (Kekene), David Auna (Davu) and Rina Fiolo (Rikayz) have made a positive impression on locals and studios alike with performances around the city.
The past days has been very busy for the four musicians, visiting Solomon Islands students at the Pacific Adventist University (PAU), University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG), residents of the Cheshire Home that house children with disability and staging mini-shows at the Waterfront Foodworld and the popular Vision City.
Interviews were also conducted with the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) and EMTV where the boys featured in Friday’s “In Port Moresby Tonight” TV show.
A courtesy call was made to the Solomon Islands High Commission’s Office where the boys were given the opportunity to have an audience with the Minister’s Councillor, William Soaki.
The boys were privileged to receive words of encouragement from Mr. Soaki who advised them to continue with their hard work as ambassadors for our nation through music.
Their first show was at the Gold Club, Lamana Hotel Thursday night which was described by some in the audience as the “wow factor”.
“The show was the bomb and I was like moving my body from the start to the end of the two hours show. These boys are great entertainers, performing with humour and so much confidence like international stars,” an excited female in the crowd, Margaret Maraha said.
Another in the crowd said there was expectation of something different, “but definitely not what we got [tonight]. These boys totally nailed it and have raised entertainment up a whole new level.”
Complemented with the “beatboxing MC” by Russell Ashwin, a.k.a Frogi Boy, all in the crowd approached said it was worth the money spent on tickets to watch the boys perform live.
Some students from the Solomons who were part of the crowd said it was a very proud moment for them as Solomon Islanders.
The Gold Club show landed the boys with more interview requests from FM stations including the PNG FM and Hot 97.
The boys also staged another show at the Sports Inn Thursday night with the colour theme: green, blue and yellow, paying homage to our country and raising our flag in the music industry.
A public concert closes off the week-long tour Friday afternoon for the Voice Off 11 artists at the Sir John Guise Indoor Complex, with the residents of Cheshire Home the guests of honor for the show.
Part of the proceeds will go to the Cheshire Home as part of their charity contribution and community service.
The artists arrived back in the country on Sunday.
